‐B(‐‐barcode)isanoptiontoeithersetthevirtualtapewiththeprovidedbarcodeor
createvirtualtapesinbatchmod econfiguredwithbarcodesformthespecified
barcoderange.Theargumentmustbewithinthebarcoderangeconfiguredforthe
libraryandmustnotcontainused barcodes.When
providedasabarcoderange,the
optioncreatesavirtualtapeforeachbarcodeintherange.
‐t(‐‐count) isanoptiontocreatemultiplevirtualtapeshavingthebarcode
automaticallychosenfrom withinthebarcoderangeconfiguredatlibrarylevel.The
librarymusthavetherequirednumberoffree
slotsavailable.Ifcombined,ʺcountʺ
andʺbarcodeʺoptionsmustagreeinnumber.
Ifthepa rent library hastheauto‐archive/remotecopypropertyenabled,usethe
followingoptionstoprovideaddition alinformationforvirtualtapecreation:
‐A(‐‐enable‐auto‐arch ive)isanoptionwhenthepa rent libraryisenabledwithauto‐
archive
option.
‐l(‐‐plib‐vid)isrequiredwhen<auto‐archive‐mode>isspecified.Itisthephysical
tapelibrarywherethetapewillbeexportedtoautomatically.
‐b(‐‐physical‐tape‐barcode)is requiredtospecifythe listofphysicaltapebarcode(s)
whentheauto‐archiveoptioniss pec if ie d.Separate
multiplebarcodeswithcommas.
Forexample,

‐J(‐‐auto‐eject‐to‐ie)isoptionalwhen<auto‐archive‐mode>isspecified.

archive)optionisspecifiedbecausethenumberoftapeswillbeobtainedfrom the
listofbarcodes
specifiedwith‐b(‐‐ph ys i cal ‐tape‐barcode)option.
‐X(‐‐rpc‐timeout)isanoptiontospecifyanumberbetween1and30000inseconds
fortheRPCtimeout.Thesystemwillretrythecommandfortheamountof time
specifiediftheserverdoesnotrespond.ThedefaultRPCtime out
is30 seconds.
