Forcingmigration to physicaltape
Tomanuallycausedata ina cachetobemigratedto physicaltape, proceedas
follows:
1. IntheobjecttreeoftheVTLconsole,rightclickonavirtualtapecache.
2. SelectMigrate to Physical Tapefromthecontextmenu.
Notethatalldataon thephysicaltapeisoverwritten.
Stophere.
Manuallyfreeing cache space
1. Ifyouneedtoreleasespaceinasinglecache,intheobjecttreeoftheVTL
console,rightclickonavirtualtapeca c he , andselectReclaim Disk Space.
Notethatalldatainthecacheisoverwritten.
2. Toreleasespace inmultipletapecaches,intheobjecttreeofth eVTL
console,
rightclickontheVirtual Tape Library Systemnode,andselectReclaim
Disk Spacefr omthecontextmenu.
Stophere.
Renewingcachefor adirectlylinkedtape
VTLsoftwareautomaticallyrecachesadirectlinkphy si cal tapeifthelinkis
overwrittenbyabackupapplication.To manuallyrenewthecacheforadirectlink
tape,proceedasfollows:
